Tomáš Nikolai is a prinicipal investigator of a project Emotional Creativity and Cognitive Decline in the Elderly (GACR 18-26094S) realized at PCPS since 2018. He is a chief psychologist at the Laboratory of Neuropsychology at the Neurological Clinic at the General University Hospital in Prague. He is a clinical psychologists, focuses on neuropsychology and diagnostics of cognitive functions. He graduated with Master's degrees in psychology, and pedagogy. He obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Psychology and Psychopathology at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague, where he is a tutor, now. He is a founding member of the Czech Association for Neuropsychology. He is a member of the Council of the Czech-Moravian Psychological Society (since 2018).

He was an intern at several prestigious laboratories (University College London, Great Britain,  University of Tampere, Finland, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands). He is an author of scientific articles.
